Library room with secret bed, Sussex

Sam’s clients came to her with quite an unusual brief in that they were very specific about needing their longed for library room to not just be for reading and hanging out in, but to also be a guest room for visitors who came to stay for extended periods of time.

And they definitely weren’t keen on putting their guests up on a sofa bed!

Which led Sam onto the path of wall hung beds with proper comfy mattresses. And the trick was then how to incorporate it without it taking over the room.

And with some simple, yet clever, joinery the idea of a swivel mechanism was conjured up to twist the front to the back, and reveal the bed.

The whole room was then colour drenched top to toe in the loveliest of pale greens, with plenty of rich textures and patterns combined to create a room that not only has stunning visual impact, but is a beautifully relaxing interior to hang out in too.

With bespoke window treatments and cushions to finish the look, it really is an utterly unique space that Sam’s clients can enjoy for many years to come.
