Round up…

My monthly edit of inspirational interiors’ pieces from around the web…

I love these hand painted lamps for bringing a bold element of colour and pattern to a room.
And because the shades are made from pulped paper, they also have a wonderful texture to them…so not only look good, but feel good too.

There’s something about these candles that I find really appealing. And in this instance I love the lack of bold colour, as the creamy tones allow you to appreciate the shape and patterns even more so. Would definitely seem a shame to burn them though…

These are made locally to where I live in St Leonards on Sea, and I love the fact that they are made from untreated, natural goat hair.
Made to order, they can be woven in your choice of colours…as long as they sit within the natural palette of the goat - black, white, grey or brown!

When it comes to ‘art’ on our walls, it doesn’t always have to be a picture. And this is where wall hangings can be perfect. I love everything about Wati Studio and their hand woven palm pieces made by a women’s collective in Columbia. Beautiful colours, and simple bold patterns. The perfect addition to any home.

It is the simplicity of these handmade ceramic coasters that I find appealing. Made in a range of soft, subtle colours, and the type of thing that you’ll keep forever.
And having once spent about six weeks at a pottery class making a very small pot, I appreciate how long it takes to make something as delicate as this.

Another alternative to wall hung art is a collection of shallow decorative baskets. I love to group a few of varying sizes with similar colours and textures together.
The simplicity of the patterns of these bamboo woven ones will add interest to any space.

A tad early to be thinking about picnic blankets? Maybe, but this ‘throw blanket’ made from recycled polyester and pre-waste cotton ticks all the boxes for me.
A little bit hippie-style with the sun and moon design perhaps…but a gorgeous mix of Umbra and Ochre shades. Bring on summer.

Hand crafted quilts have become much more popular than they used to be. Which is great as these are the type of interiors’ pieces that are worth investing in…as they will last forever, and end up becoming family heirlooms.
And I love these contemporary ones from The Hackney Quilter - such a joyful use of colour.

For me, the beauty of this illustration lies in it’s simplicity. And I find it a gentle reminder to take time out to enjoy everyday moments.
And the lack of colour to this drawing means that it will suit any decor in any space.

The soft, delicate colour palette of this ottoman makes it an ideal piece for sitting quietly in the background of your home.
And whilst the fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, it apparently feels like a soft wool.
Perfect for putting your feet up on.
